Behind the Scenes…

An estimated million or more readers have discovered The Urantia Book, a 2,097 page revelation of historical and spiritual truths.

Many now believe the Urantia Book will have a profound course-correcting effect on human destiny.

Many do not know about this revelation—even as it moves steadily through ever-expanding circles of global influence. Perhaps because of customs, traditions and superstitions, our skepticism inhibits us from fully appreciating what it is - an epochal revelation. In spite of this naturally cautious approach, growth in readership continues apace.

This podcast is responsive to the ever-growing awareness of the Urantia Book revelation; its purpose is to help new readers gain key insights into the Urantia Book teachings. In addition to studying the papers, we also bring in the experience of other readers who are involved in Urantia outreach and ministry.

Roots

The initial written revelation was given between 1925 and 1935 to a small group of individuals who studied them over this period. In 1942, the printed plates were set, and in 1955, they were printed by RR Donnelly in Chicago, Illinois. No author is listed, only The Urantia Foundation is named as the trustee of the papers. The Foundation, since then, has been principally involved in the translation and distribution of the Urantia Book. Readership has been entirely organic.

A New Perspective

The Urantia Book presents a new spiritual philosophy founded upon a bonafide relationship between God and man, and presents for inspection the universe as a highly intelligent and well organized enterprise. Its theme is to harmonize and coalesce science, religion, history and philosophy into one total reality view.

The universe is not empty, nor is it arbitrary. It is guided by the love of God, and sustained by the laws and certainty of God; we are most fortunate to have received this wonderful message at a time when there is growing uncertainty in the world regarding our origins, purpose and destiny. The Urantia Book presages a future cosmic awakening, and is preparatory to this coming age when the divine hand of Providence will once again reveal itself in ever greater measure.

Even now and in the Urantia Book we are foretold of these things to come, which is why I have chosen to use this podcast as a vehicle to discuss and explore the wonderful truths of the Urantia papers, and in doing so, lift the spirits of those fellow seekers of truth who share in the joy of reading this wonderful, and especially important collection of writings.
